Please keep in mind that our doctors may have different pre-surgical procedures to follow. It is always best to check with your doctor to see if there are any special instructions for your specific surgery you need to follow.
What to Bring the Day of Surgery
- For Outpatients: a comfortable set of clothes for discharge, denture, contact or glass case (if applicable).
- For Inpatients: several sets of undergarmets, denture, contact or glass case (if applicable), comfortable sets of clothes for the length of stay and discharge, well fitted house slippers/shoes.
- Please DO NOT bring jewelry or extra money.
- Basic toiletry items are provided by the hospital.
- Bring all medications in their original containers. DO NOT bring them in pre-arranged pill boxes.
- If you have a walker, cane or crutches of your own, please bring the item so that we can properly evaluate its use for your current surgery.
Transportation
A family member or friend MUST drive you home when discharged. If you will be going to rehabilitation, our hospital staff will make all the necessary arrangements.
Prior to Surgery
DO NOT EAT or DRINK after midnight the night prior to surgery.
Please discuss your current medications with your surgeon beforehand. Some medications should not be taken in preparation for surgery.
Cancellation Policy
If you must cancel a procedure or surgery for any reason please call 817-345-4100. If it is after hours please leave a message with your name, spelling of your last name, the procedure or surgery you need to cancel, the date it would have been performed, and your phone number with the area code, so we may contact you if we have questions.
